Things to do in TenerifeThere are many things to do in Tenerife. Aqua Club Termal opens up a world of relaxation and wellness. This spacious club is one of Europe's finest sports and leisure centers. The spa and thermal bath area features a large dynamic swimming pool with some 300 water jets, where you can relax and treat yourself to a two hour full thermal circuit. The amount of attractions and available activities are endless. Paragliding, scuba-diving, fishing, are all on your doorstep. One of the most popular and well maintained beaches are within a short distance to Amarilla Golf, that being the endless stretch of sandy beach in El Medano and Playa de La Tejita. The beach at El Medano has perfect conditions for windsurfing and has played host to the world windsurfing championships, there is a wind Surf School where all equipment can be hired and also offers instruction. One of the more challenging things to do in Tenerife is to climb to the summit of Mount Teide, the highest in Spain is a unique experience. Part of the route can be done by cable car which allows anyone to make the ascent. The route by foot is quite demanding and will take almost six hours of walking. For those who do not wish to drive, Ritz Golf and Country Club reception can arrange all excursions. Within only 15 minutes by car you have access to activities such as shows, museums, markets, boat excursions, trekking, biking, go-carting. Within close vicinity you will also be able to visit several animal parks, Agua park and water lands. Take an excursion to the famous Loro Parque in Puerto de La Cruz where there is lots of attraction for all ages. The dolphin show, sea lion show and the largest collection of parrots in the world, amongst others.

Puerto de la Cruz, a touristic town of international repute, is home to the famous “Loro Parque”, a world of exotic vegetation in which a wide variety of species live in harmony and in turn offer lots of attraction for all ages. The dolphin show, sea lion show and the largest collection of parrots in the world amongst others. The marine species are also present in an impressive aquarium. The park has also plenty of service areas with restaurants, snack bars and even a picnic-area. More places of interest are the Botanical Gardens, Lagos Martinez, Plaza del Charco and the beach of Playa Jardin.

The National Park of “Las Cañadas” is one of the most extraordinary and beautiful sights one can admire. Physically the park is an enormous crater surrounded by vertical rocks with an area size of 130s.q. Km, from whose centre rises the largest mountain in Spain, Mount Teide. (3.717 m). The great variety of volcanic rocks to be found as well as endemic floral and lunar landscape are part of this unique world of colour and shapes.

We make our way up to Mount Teide by Guia de Issora. Once in the National Park of Teide you will have the possibility to take pictures on the several stops that will be made along the park. We´ll continue through the ever-green Valley of La Orotava to get to Icod, which is home to the “Drago” tree and here is also famous for it´s wines. Our journey will take us to the North coast of the Island to take us to Garachico, which was destroyed by the volcanic eruption in 1706. In this area we will have time for lunch (Not included in the price). Masca will be our last stop, this old village was occupied by pirates in past times because of the excellent view that they had of La Gomera, having a fim control of the naval trafic between both islands.

On board of the ferry, we arrive to La Gomera, where Christopher Columus mad his last stop before sailing to discover the New World. We head through the Valley of Hermigua, setting our sights on the “garajonay National Park” and the forest of “el Cedro”, with its unique vegetation declared heritage of mankind by UNESCO. In Las Rosas, we will have a typical home cooked gomeran meal and a demonstration of the peculiar gomeran language. We begin our return passing through the towns of Chipude and El Cercado. On our way back we will come across the impressive rock of Agando before discovering the history and culture of “San Sebastian” Chapel and the Tower of “El Conde”. The night takes place in the authentic castle San Miguel. You will cross the draw bridge to be met by the Count & Countess and then you take your seat in the grand indoor arena. The night begins with a spectacular show of skill and horsemanship, the knights of the caslte “joust and fight to the death!” during which time a typical medieval supper will be served with as much wine as you can merrily drink! Afterwards, we move into the hall for live music and dancing until our return back to the resort.
